You are invited to take part in a 5–10 minute questionnaire on the Isabelle system. Please understand the following research context: This study is being conducted by James Kellett
and Ben Brook under the supervision of Simon Foster and Christian Pardillo-Laursen at the
University of York for the purpose of researching and developing a package management
tool for Isabelle.
You will be asked 9 questions relating to your current use of Isabelle and preferences for the
features of an Isabelle package manager, all of which are optional. Collected data will first be
anonymised, then analysed by aggregating the responses. No personal data will be collected. You will be given a randomised ID which you can use to withdraw your consent to partake in the study. Collected data will be password-secure and stored in Qualtric’s database, and all data collected will only be accessible to the aforementioned persons. Individual data will be anonymised before analysis and not individually quoted, but analysed in an aggregate manner. Your data will be treated with full confidentiality and, if published, it will not be identifiable as yours.
Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw from the research at any time (even after the data collection, for up to two weeks) for any reason without any negative consequences.
To request withdrawal, please email christian.laursen@york.ac.uk with the randomised ID you were provided upon survey submission.
This data will be retained only for the duration of this project, therefore no later than 30 June 2025.
