In this questionnaire, you will be asked some open-ended questions about your experiences playing the game No Mans Sky. In particular, you will be asked to describe your experiences playing the game when you encountered content that was particularly interesting, as well as to describe periods playing the game when this did not occur. The purpose of this study is to better understand player experiences of novelty in games that utilise procedural content generation.
The data gathered will be visible to myself and my supervisor. This will be in the form a spreadsheet but you will not be individually identifiable from the data. This study is acting as a preliminary investigation, so the data may be used as part of a publication. However, you will not be identifiable in any way if the work is published.
This survey should take about 5-10 minutes to complete.
